Court - The News Today - TNT
SUKKUR: Sindh High Court’s bench headed by Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar expressed its displeasure over the district administration’s failure to comply with its earlier order regarding shifting of certain buffalo pens from within the city to the Cattle Colony.
While hearing a petition, Justice Gorar warned Deputy Commissioner Rana Adeel Tasawur, who was present along with SITE DSP Abdul Sattar Phull, that non-compliance with the order within the next week might cost him his position.
The judge also reprimanded DSP Phull observing that the police officers concerned appeared incompetent and were doing nothing. “They cannot even implement court’s orders,” he wondered.
The bench took notice of the absence of New Taluka Assistant Commissioner Rana Umar and issued bailable warrants for his arrest for evading court’s directives to attend the hearing.
Justice Gorar said that shifting of the buffalo pens was ordered because their presence was disturbing flow of vehicular traffic in the city. Besides, he said, the animals were destroying plantation along canals.
