ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus pandemic fourth wave in continue as Pakistan is still battling against the virus while during last 24 hours the deadly disease contracted 4,856 more people, besides 81 more people have lost their lives.
According to latest figures appeared on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday, more than 4,856 people have tested positive for the coronavirus across the country and 81 more people have died of the virus.
As many as 4,856 people tested positive for the virus after 64,690 COVID-19 tests were conducted, as per the NCOC’s data. This brings the positivity rate to 7.50 per cent. The total number of active cases in the country rose to 84,177 on August 11.
Pakistan has so far conducted more than 17 million coronavirus tests while durng last 24 hours 65,690 tests were conducted.
Pakistan has reported 4,856 new cases in last one day that took the novel coronavirus number of positive cases to 1,080,360. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 24,085 on Wednesday after 81 deaths more deaths were reported.
So far 972,098 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,513 patients are in critical condition.
Overall, coronavirus cases across Pakistan haven’t declined or risen significantly, however, Sindh lifted its lockdown Monday. Revised COVID-19 restrictions, which will last till August 31, have been announced by the Sindh government.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The overall tall of fatalities has jumped to 24,085 out of which 11,256 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 6,275 in Sindh, 4,588 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 822 in Islamabad, 654 in Azad Kashmir, 332 in Balochistan, and 158 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The overall nationwide tally of positive cases surged to 1,080,360 out of which 403,964 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 367,054 in Punjab, 149,532 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 91,672 in Islamabad, 31,298 in Balochistan, 27,899 in Azad Kashmir and 8,941 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 16,616,130 coronavirus tests and 65,690 in the last 24 hours 972,098 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,513 patients are in critical condition.
