COVID-19 4th Wave: Pakistan reports 3,559 new cases, 101 deaths in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus epidemic fourth wave is continue and despite efforts of the government no decline in the deadly disease is visible as Pakistan during last 24 hours reported 3,559 new infections and 101 new deaths.

According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday over 101 fatalities were reported across Pakistan which took the overall toll of deaths to 25,889. On Wednesday 3,559 people have been contracted to coronavirus that took the overall tally of positive cases to 1,163,688.

According to NCOC’s province wise data Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The total figures of overall fatalities reported so far was 25,889, out of that 11,915 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 6,910 in Sindh, 4,988 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 866 in Islamabad, 698 in Azad Kashmir, 339 in Balochistan, and 173 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Overall positive cases so far reported across the Pakistan were 1,163,688 out of which 432,637 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 394,738 in Punjab, 162,402 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 99,516 in Islamabad, 32,248 in Balochistan, 32,228 in Azad Kashmir and 9,919 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 17,809,969 coronavirus tests and 53,637 in the last 24 hours. 1,043,898 patients have recovered in the country whereas 5,690 patients are in critical condition.
