COVID-19 claims 119 more lives, 4,951 new infections confirmed in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: COVID-19 is continue to play havoc as 119 new deaths were confirmed during last 24 hours, besides 4,951 new infections were confirmed by the authorities round the country.

Despite tall claims regarding the efforts being made to control the coronavirus pandemic by the authorities, The situation seems that the deadly virus has stretched its jaws over Pakistan and Pakistanis.

Coronavirus is still at run in Pakistan and with 119 more deaths reported the death toll surged to 3,501 and with 4,951 new infections the toll reached to 176,617 across the country.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), has confirmed 171.666 coronavirus infections in the country as well as it reported 3,382 deaths due to COVID-19.

Sindh and Punjab crossed the mark of 60,000 infections of COVID-19 and the two provinces are rapidly moving to touch the 70,000 mark. Sindh is at top of the unfortunate list with 67,353 and Punjab with 65,739 coronavirus infections. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also crossed the 20,000 mark of infections with 21,444 infections reported in the province while Islamabad Capital Territory also crossed 10,000 infections mark with 10,662 infections reported so far.

Pakistan crossed one million mark of COVID-19 tests as so far 1,071,642 coronavirus tests were conducted nation-wide out of which 28,855 during last 24 hours. 67,892 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. Coronavirus epidemic patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.

According to latest figure displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on June 21, Saturday 10:00am, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll of 176,617 infections show that Sindh jumped the toll of infections with 67,353 coronavirus cases followed by Punjab with.65,739 infections of the COVID-19 pandemic. The infections confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have crossed 21,444 confirmed infections, in Balochistan toll surged to 9,328, Gilgit-Baltistan reached to the toll of 1,278 infections, Islamabad Capital Territory reached to 10,662 and 813 infection reported in Azad Jammu Kashmir.

The figure given by Coronavirus Dashboard in its province-wise break up regarding the total 3,501 deaths reported in the country. Punjab is at top of the list of confirmed deaths with 1,407 while Sindh with 1,048 deaths at number two. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa death toll surged to 808, Balochistan 100, Gilgit-Baltistan 21, Islamabad Capital Territory 98 and AJK 19.
