ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus pandemic has claimed 88 more lives in Pakistan during last 24 hours while 4,007 more people were tested positive to COVID-19.
The Government on Saturday has confirmed 88 new deaths and 4,007 more people were tested positive. 4,007 new coronavirus cases took the toll of infections to 897,468 cases. During last 24 hours 88 new deaths were reported that took the toll of fatalities to 20,177.
According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), The NCOC conducted overall 12.7 million coronavirus testes across the country while 62,238 COVID-19 tests conducted in 24 hours, out of them 4,007 were tested positive.
The coronavirus positivity ratio in Pakistan stands at 7.93% as on Saturday. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country is 78,959, while 813,855 people have recovered from the virus so far and 4,412 were reported to be in critical condition.
Punjab remained the worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 10 per cent in some parts while the toll of infections reached to 333,057 in the province. Sindh has reported 306,707 overall coronavirus epidemic infections, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
The new cases have taken the national tally of positive cases to 897,468 with 333,057 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 306,707 in Sindh, 129,013 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 80,156 in Islamabad, 24,413 in Balochistan, 18,651 in Azad Kashmir and 5,471 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide till of deaths surged to 20,177 out of that 9,739 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,891 in Sindh, 3,900 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 744 in Islamabad, 526 in Azad Kashmir, 270 in Balochistan, and 107 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
So far till Saturday Pakistan has so far conducted 12,717,235 coronavirus tests and 62,238 in the last 24 hours. 813,855 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,412 patients are in critical condition.
