COVID-19 death toll about to surge to 20,000 as 104 fatalities and 3,256 cases reported

ISLAMABAD: The death toll of coronavirus pandemic is about to touch the 20,000 mark as after 104 new deaths toll of fatalities jumped to 19,856 on Wednesday besides 3,256 new cases were reported across Pakistan.
During last 24 hours 104 newdeaths were reportedwhile 3,256 people have been tested positive to virus.
The Government functionaris on Wednesday have confirmed 104 new deaths and 3,256 more people were tested positive. 3,256 new coronavirus cases took the toll of infections to 886,184 cases. During last 24 hours 104 new deaths were reported that took the toll of fatalities to 19,856.
According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC conducted 12.6 million tests so far while 41,771 COVID-19 tests across conducted across Pakistan on Wednesday out of them 3,256 were tested positive.
The coronavirus positivity ratio in Pakistan stands at 7.93 per cent as on Wednesday. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country is 78,959, while 799,951 people have recovered from the virus so far and 4,549 were reported to be in critical condition.
Punjab remained the worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 10 per cent in some parts while the toll of infections reached to 329,913 in the province. Sindh has reported 301,247 overall coronavirus epidemic infections, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
The new cases have taken the national tally of positive cases to 886,184 with 329,913 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 301,247 in Sindh, 127,609 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 79,552 in Islamabad, 24,064 in Balochistan, 18,360 in Azad Kashmir and 5,439 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide till of deaths surged to 19,856 out of that 9,563 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,835 in Sindh, 3,827 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 735 in Islamabad, 519 in Azad Kashmir, 270 in Balochistan, and 107 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
So far till Wednesday Pakistan has so far conducted 12,552,339 coronavirus tests and 41,771 in the last 24 hours. 799,951 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,549 patients are in critical condition.
