ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus epidemic took ugly turn and surged to new height across Pakistan as during last 24 hours deadly virus claimed 58 more lives and 2,511 people were tested positive to killer disease.
During last 24 hours 58 new deaths were reported to COVID-19 and 2,511 more people were tested positive to the virus round the Pakistan Tuesday.
Nationwide infections on Tuesday surged to new high during last more than one month as 2,511 were tested to coronavirus epidemic besides 58 more deaths were confirmed. With 2,511 new infections reported in the country that took the toll to 609,964 cases and with 58 new deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 13,595.
According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 58 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 2,511 persons tested positive for COVID-19.
Sindh with 261,582 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
So far across the country 261,582 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 188,225 in Punjab 76,379 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 48,495 in Islamabad, 19,233 in Balochistan, 11,089 in Azad Kashmir and 4,961 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 13,595 out of that 5,812 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,461 in Sindh, 2,169 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 526 in Islamabad, 322 in Azad Kashmir, 202 in Balochistan, and 103 in Gilgit Baltistan.
According to reports issued by NCOC, Pakistan has so far conducted 9,565,066 coronavirus tests and 35,303 in the last 24 hours. 573,014 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,895 patients are in critical condition.
