COVID-19 Third Wave: 5,445 more people tests positive, 137 new deaths reported in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Coronavorus third wave is still to come in control as across Pakistan 5,445 new cases were reported across Pakistan during last 24 hours besides 137 new deaths.

Despite restrictions, lockdowns, smart lockdown, government’s orders of closure of shops in time and to ensure implementation of Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), Coronavirus pandemic is taking worst turn as 137 new deaths were reported and 5,445 people were tested positive in last one day.

On Tuesday morning the country has reported 137 new deaths by COVID-19 pandemic that took the toll of fatalities to 16,453, while 5,445 more people were tested positive taking the tally to 766,882 round the Pakistan.

According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 137 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 5,445 persons tested positive for COVID-19.

Punjab has been declared worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 11 per cent in some parts. Sindh has reported 273,566 overall coronavirus epidemic infections remained the worst-hit province of the country in terms of cases followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties. So far across the country 273,566 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 273,466 in Sindh, 107,309 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 70,609 in Islamabad, 21,000 in Balochistan, 15,741 in Azad Kashmir and 5,191 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 16,453 out of that 7,561 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,556 in Sindh, 2,920 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 645 in Islamabad, 442 in Azad Kashmir, 225 in Balochistan, and 103 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 11,272,531 coronavirus tests and 68,002 in the last 24 hours. 667,131 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,494 patients are in critical condition.
