ISLAMABAD: Coronavorus third wave is continue to kill more people across Pakistan as 5,499 new cases were reported nationwide during last 24 hours besides 148 new deaths.
Despite imposition of restrictions, lockdowns, smart lockdowns, government’s orders of closure of business centers in time and to ensure implementation of Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), Coronavirus pandemic is taking worst turn as 148 new deaths were reported and 5,499 people were tested positive in last one day.
On Wednesday morning the country has reported 148 new deaths by COVID-19 pandemic that took the toll of fatalities to 16,600, while 5,499 more people were tested positive taking the tally to 772,381 round the Pakistan.
According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 148 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 5,499 persons tested positive for COVID-19.
Punjab have been declared worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 11 per cent in some parts. Sindh has reported 276,535 overall coronavirus epidemic infections remained the worst-hit province of the country in terms of cases followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
So far across the country 276,535 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 274,196 in Sindh, 108,462 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 70,984 in Islamabad, 21,127 in Balochistan, 15,873 in Azad Kashmir and 5,204 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 16,600 out of that 7,664 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,559 in Sindh, 2,953 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 649 in Islamabad, 446 in Azad Kashmir, 225 in Balochistan, and 104 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 11,319,832 coronavirus tests and 47,301 in the last 24 hours. 672,619 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,528 patients are in critical condition.
