ISLAMABAD: Coronavorus third wave is continue to kill more people across Pakistan as 5,857 people were tested positive for the Virus countrywide during last 24 hours besides 98 new deaths.
Despite the Government claims to get the virus under control coronavirus pandemic is taking worst turn as 148 new deaths were reported and 5,857 people were tested positive in last one day.
On Thursday morning the country has reported 98 new deaths by COVID-19 pandemic that took the toll of fatalities to 16,698, while 5,857 more people were tested positive taking the tally to 778,238 round the Pakistan.
According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 98 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 5,857 persons tested positive for COVID-19.
Punjab has been declared worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 11 per cent in some parts. Sindh has reported 279,437 overall coronavirus epidemic infections remained the worst-hit province of the country in terms of cases followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
So far across the country 279,437 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 275,081 in Sindh, 109,704 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 71,533 in Islamabad, 21,242 in Balochistan, 16,026 in Azad Kashmir and 5,215 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 16,698 out of that 7,718 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,562 in Sindh, 2,990 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 649 in Islamabad, 449 in Azad Kashmir, 226 in Balochistan, and 104 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 11,377,423 coronavirus tests and 57,591 in the last 24 hours. 676,605 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,593 patients are in critical condition.
