COVID-19 turns worst: Epidemic causes 4,767 new infections, 57 deaths in last 24 hrs

ISLAMABAD: Third Wave of Coronavirus pandemic turns worst across Pakistan and during last 24 hours 4,767 new cases were reported along with 57 new deaths.

During last 24 hours 57 new deaths were reported besides 4,767 people were tested positive to virus, which was highest ever across the country. Government is looking for many options to curb the deadly virus.

On Sunday morning the country has reported 57 new deaths by COVID-19 pandemic and 4,767 more people were tested positive to the virus round the Pakistan.

Nationwide infections surged to new high during last one year as 4,767 were tested to coronavirus epidemic besides 57 more deaths were confirmed. With 4,767 new infections reported in the country that took the toll to 654,591 cases and with 57 new deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 14,215.

According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 57 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 4,767 persons tested positive for COVID-19.

Punjab have been declared worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 18 per cent in some parts. Sindh has reported 264,607 overall coronavirus epidemic infections remained the worst-hit province of the country in terms of cases followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.

So far across the country 264,607 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 212,918 in Punjab 84,609 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 55,594 in Islamabad, 19,497 in Balochistan, 12,367 in Azad Kashmir and 4,999 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 14,215 out of that 6,229 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,491 in Sindh, 2,283 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 559 in Islamabad, 344 in Azad Kashmir, 206 in Balochistan, and 103 in GB.Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to a report issued by NCOC so far country-wide coronavirus tests conducted during last 24 hours were 10,066,726 and 45,656 in the last 24 hours. 595,929 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 3,043 patients are in critical condition.
