CPLC, SMBBIT ink MoU to facilitate identifying patients coming in emergency

KARACHI: Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute of Trauma (SMBBIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) facilitate the identification of the patients coming in the emergency.

The MoU was signed at Sindh Governor’s Secretariat, Karachi, during a simple ceremony.

The occasion was graced by Dr. Muhammad Sabir Memon, Chief Operating Officer – SMBBIT and Zubair Habib, Chief CPLC Sindh along with Dy. Chief Adil Chapra and Head of Taskforce Shanakth, Amir Hassan.

The main purpose of the MoU is to facilitate SMBBIT via CPLC Shanakth project in identify the patients who come in emergency because of accidents and have no form of identification or are unconscious. This will help SMBBIT to coordinate with CPLC Shanakht to locate the family members of patient.

Zubair Habib, Chief CPLC Sindh said that the CPLC Shanakht Project was initiated to identify dead bodies but with passage of time it has achieved great milestones and expanded its services in identifying people living in Edhi homes.

Dr. Muhammad Sabir Memon, Chief Operating Officer SMBBIT, in his remarks thanked the Chief CPLC – Sindh for his outright support. He emphasized that with collaboration of the CPLC and the support of the Shanakht team, SMBBIT will be able to facilitate the families who visit to find their loved ones.
