Crocodile Found Relaxing in Luxury Hotel Pool in Australia

Guests and staff at a luxury Australian hotel were taken by surprise when a crocodile was found lounging in the swimming pool. A video from the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort in Port Douglas, Queensland, quickly went viral, showing the small reptile calmly floating in the crystal-blue water.

The video was shared on Instagram by a user named Lisa Keller. In the clip, she can be heard saying that she does not wish to alarm anyone, but there is a crocodile in the Sheraton pool.

Several tourists can be seen lounging around the poolside in the footage.

According to hotel manager Joseph Amirio, the crocodile was spotted on Saturday morning. The area remained under observation until officers from Queensland’s Department of Wildlife removed the animal from the pool.

It is estimated that northern Australia is home to more than 100,000 saltwater and freshwater crocodiles.
