KARACHI: Customs officials in an operation at Karachi Airport arrested a passenger arriving in Karachi from Abu Dhabi and foiled an attempt to smuggle goods worth more than Rs 6.8 million.
Customs officials said in a press release that a passenger arriving in Karachi from the United States via Abu Dhabi was arrested while exiting the arrival hall without scanning.
According to customs officials, 46 mobile phones, cosmetics and foreign currency were recovered from the passenger s possession.
Gold jewelry worth more than Rs 2.4 million was also recovered from the pockets of accused Shehab.
