ISLAMABAD: Marvi Khurshid Malik, daughter of senior politician and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Sherry Rehman, has passed away at the age of 39, drawing widespread expressions of sorrow from political and social community.
She had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Karachi, where she was admitted five days ago. Her condition deteriorated three days before her death, requiring ventilation.
Subsequently, she was placed on a ventilator but could not survive.
Journalists and other party leaders also expressed condolences.
According to reports, funeral prayers will be offered in Karachi on Monday, March 23, 2026.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep sorrow and grief over her death and prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased, saying he hoped the bereaved family would have the strength to bear the loss.
Shazia Marri also expressed grief, saying she was deeply saddened and shocked by the news, and extended condolences to Rehman and her family.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stated in a post on X that the death was an incredible loss and that his prayers were with the family during the difficult time.
