ISLAMABAD: Death toll due to coronavirus pandemic in Pakistan reached to 471 while the confirmed coronavirus infections surged to 20,725 after more 600 infections were reported across the country. The figure of people recovered from the epidemic has reached to 5,700 so far.
As per the figure given on Coronavirus Dashboard by the National Command and Operation Center in its province-wise break up at 03:00pm on May 04, Monday, was total 20,725 after 600 new cases were confirmed during last 6 hours. Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Province-wise break up shows the figures of 7,882 of COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Sindh province followed by 7,646 infections of coronavirus pandemic in Punjab. The infections confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3,129, in Balochistan toll surged to figure of confirmed cases 1,218, 364 was figure in Gilgit-Baltistan, 415 in Islamabad Capital Territory and 71 in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
The figure given by Coronavirus Dashboard in its province-wise break up at 03:00pm on May 04, Monday total deaths reported in the country were 471 after 9 more fatalities were reported round the country during last 6 hours. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is on top of the fatalities list with 180 deaths while Sindh is at number 2 with 137 deaths, Punjab with 126, Balochistan 21, Gilgit-Baltistan 3 and Islamabad Capital Territory 4.
A retired doctor in Karachi, who had tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago, died on Sunday morning after he was allegedly denied treatment at various public and private hospitals in Karachi.
Dr Furqan-ul-Haq’s wife said, “He was dying due to shortness of breath after testing positive for the novel coronavirus, but no hospital admitted him.
“He was taken to the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation [SIUT], and a private hospital in Azizabad where he used to work, but all of them said they had no beds available,” she said.
