ISLAMABAD: Death toll in Pakistan has crossed 20,000 mark on Friday after 102 new deaths were reported across the country besides 3,070 were tested positive of Coronavirus pandemic.
Authorities and health experts are time and again asking people to ensure the implementation on SOPs so that the disease can be controlled.
The Government functionaries on Friday have confirmed 102 new deaths and 3,070 more people were tested positive. 2,566 new coronavirus cases took the toll of infections to 893,461 cases. During last 24 hours 102 new deaths were reported that took the toll of fatalities to 20,089.
According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), The NCOC conducted overall 12.7 million coronavirus testes across the country while 51,528 COVID-19 tests conducted in 24 hours, out of them 3,070 were tested positive.
The coronavirus positivity ratio in Pakistan stands at 7.93% as on Friday. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country is 78,959, while 819,143 people have recovered from the virus so far and 4,424 were reported to be in critical condition.
Punjab remained the worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 10 per cent in some parts while the toll of infections reached to 332,00 in the province. Sindh has reported 304,571 overall coronavirus epidemic infections, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
The new cases have taken the national tally of positive cases to 893,461 with 332,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 304,571 in Sindh, 128,561in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 24,318 in Balochistan, 80,010 in Islamabad, 18,547 in Azad Kashmir and 5,454 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide till of deaths surged to 20,089 out of that 9,704 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,869 in Sindh, 3,875 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 270 in Balochistan, 741 in Islamabad, 523 in Azad Kashmir and 107 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
So far till Friday Pakistan has so far conducted 12,654,997 coronavirus tests and 51,528 in the last 24 hours. 810,143 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,424 patients are in critical condition.
