COVID-19 death toll touching 20,000 mark in Pakistan, 131 new deaths, 4,207 cases reported

ISLAMABAD: The death toll of coronavirus pandemic has reached to 20,000 mark as after 131 new deaths toll of fatalities jumped to 19,987 across Pakistan on Thursday besides 4,207 new cases were reported.
During last 24 hours 131 new coronavirus deaths were reported while 4,207 people have been tested positive to deadly virus.
The Government functionaries on Thursday have confirmed 131 new deaths and 4,207 more people were tested positive. 4,207 new coronavirus cases took the toll of infections to 890,391 cases. During last 24 hours 131 new deaths were reported that took the toll of fatalities to 19,987.
According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC conducted 12.7 million tests so far while 51,130 COVID-19 tests across conducted across Pakistan on Thursday out of them 4,207 were tested positive.
The coronavirus positivity ratio in Pakistan stands at 7.93 per cent as on Thursday. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country is 78,959, while 802,122 people have recovered from the virus so far and 4,517 were reported to be in critical condition.
Punjab remained the worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 10 per cent in some parts while the toll of infections reached to 331,102 in the province. Sindh has reported 303,323 overall coronavirus epidemic infections, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
The new cases have taken the national tally of positive cases to 890,391 with 331,102 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 303,323 in Sindh, 128,033 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 24,223 in Balochistan, 79,789 in Islamabad, 18,469 in Azad Kashmir and 5,452 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide till of deaths surged to 19,987 out of that 9,640 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,854 in Sindh, 3,855 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 270 in Balochistan, 740 in Islamabad, 521 in Azad Kashmir and 107 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
So far till Thursday Pakistan has so far conducted 12,603,469 coronavirus tests and 51,130 in the last 24 hours. 804,122 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,517 patients are in critical condition.
