KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Faisal Karim Kundi has said that a planned effort to manipulate the general elections seems to be behind reason for delay in polls.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he was of the view that the general elections should not be postponed on desire of a couple of political parties.
Faisal Karim Kundi emphasized that the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decisions should be in line with the constitution, rather than influenced by the preferences of a select few.
Instead of continuously experimenting with the “selection” process, the ultimate decision should rest with the voters in a fair election, he pointed out.
The PPP’s information secretary asserted that the authority to choose and reject their representatives in the upcoming elections should lie solely with the people. — INP
