I received a call from Lahore. They are among those who keep helping the needy without any pomp and show.
The firsthand information passed to me is nothing short of alarming. I was told that a stage has already reached where people swarm around any person who comes on a car and stops at a grocery store or a vegetable shop and expect that they would be helped in kind or cash.
The area reported is adjacent to Defence Housing Authority and Lahore Cantonment.
I am in personal knowledge that near Lahore Airport there are highly congested localities like Ibrahim Colony, Ghausia Colony, etc, where a lot of families are living in a small one room houses.
There are a lot of streets so narrow that at one time only one person can pass through. In all, there live thousands of people. Most of the male inhabitants work on daily wages, whereas their women folk work in the houses in nearby housing societies. Due to the current situation, the administration of the societies have banned their entry.
The catastrophe is in the offing.
I am not a doomsday advocate.
In my previous three articles, I pointed out that our politicians are still playing politics. Some of the media persons are also involved in mudslinging.
Are they oblivious of the eminent torrent? Or, are they dancing on someone else’s tune? Both are dangerous trends. Be warned that they will suffer like any other. Fire burns without hesitation.
I talked to a PTI front worker of Aleem Khan and asked him to update about the activities. He was disillusioned and distort. There is absolutely no coordination of work in the constituency.
No help from PMLN and PPP is also reported in the area. This indicates the callousness of the so-called public personalities. If this is an indicator of political elite, then shame must befall them.
Some videos are in circulation on Whats App, where some shameless people are getting themselves photographed with a thousand rupees note or a sack of flour with a poor or a real needy. It is disgusting and must be ridiculed. I appeal that any such videos must not be posted.
I appeal to all the sane people to please come out and help. There must be a lot of people around or in your knowledge who would never ask for help.
Please adopt such families according to your financial standing. Do not leave it to the government or political parties. It is the time to step in front and face the testing times.
I have done it, so you also please do it. At the same time please bow your head before the Almighty for forgiveness and mercy. May Allah grant us all with his grace and mercy, benevolence and bounties – Aameen.
