WANA: The Drug Union, Lower South Waziristan, and the local drug authorities held successful negotiations ending the six-day strike by the druggists in Wana.
The drug union decided to end the protest after six days and announced that all the medicine stores would be reopened from today
President Hazrat Ullah Wazir.
Speaking at a press conference here, the members of the Drug Union Lower South Waziristan and Drug Inspector Sibghatullah Wazir said that misunderstandings had arisen between them, which had been removed.
Successful negotiations were held between the Drug Union and Drug Inspector Sibghat Ullah Wazir with the efforts of South Waziristan Lower Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Saifur Rahman Wazir. Saifur Rahman Wazir said people of the tribal areas were facing a host of problems after the merger of ex-Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said documents were not available with the people and the major medical institutions were located far away. He said that the medical stores that had the certificates would display it in the pharmacies. However, he said that those medical stores that had applied for the license would display it after completion of the procedure.
He said that the people of Waziristan were facing a lot of difficulties due to the protest of the drug union.
Drug Inspector Sibghat Ullah Wazir said that if anyone violated rules, action would be taken against them under the Drug Act 1976.
