Earthquake felt in Mirpur, Jhelum again

MIRPUR: The earthquake felt again in Mirpur city of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Jhelum and its adjoining areas on Thursday, but no injuries have been reported yet.

According to report, an earthquake of 4.4 on the Richter scale was felt in Jhelum, Mirpur and adjoining areas, minor tremors were also felt in Lahore and Sialkot, causing many residents to leave their homes and offices.

The tremors come two days after a 5.8 magnitude earthquake was felt by residents of the federal capital and several other cities, but most of its brunt was borne by northern areas, especially Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) Mirpur city. The tremors lasted for 8-10 seconds and were felt strongly.

NDMA listed several buildings and reportedly road damages after the previous Earthquake.

Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir visited the hospital yesterday and direct authorities for complete assistance to affectees.
