ECP explains the status of 2018 poll complains in election tribunals

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has informed that 279 total complaints were lodged and election tribunals has gave decisions of 210 constituencies until now.

ECP has gave a detailed explanation about status of 2018 general elections complains after a recent debate generated on media.

The commission has told that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates lodged 23, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML, N) candidates 15 and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidates 9 petitions on National Assembly seats.

In Provincial Assembly constituencies, PTI candidates lodged petitions on 53 seats, PML, N on 28 seats and PPP on 20 seats.

While other political parties and independent candidates lodged 151 petitions in election tribunals.

Election commission has gave this detailed statement after the criticism by opposition political parties on 2018 general elections and demand of media for clarification.
