SWABI: Eight people were killed over a land dispute in Chota Lahore area of Swabi on Saturday, when the two sides collided during a jirga to resolve dispute.
According to the District Police Officer (DPO), a jirga was held to resolve a property dispute between the two sides at the residence of a former MPA. Tensions flared up and led to a shootout between the two sides, resulting in the deaths of six people, while two others got injured.
The injured and the dead were shifted to THQ Hospital where both the injured could not recover and passed away, raising the death toll to eight.
Police reached the crime scene after the shooting and started investigation of the case.
