ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus pandemic has claimed eight more lives across Pakistan besides 661 more people were tested positive during last 24 hours.
With the 661 new coronavirus cases confirmed during last 24 hours, the toll of COVID-19 infections jumped to 317,595 while with twelve new deaths confirmed the nation-wide tally of fatalities has jumped to 6,552.
The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has confirmed that 661 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours and eight more people have lost their lives to COVID-19 in the country.
According to figures released on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the NCOC at 1:00pm on Friday, October 09, the toll of coronavirus positive cases reached to 317,595 and Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of infections with 139,571 cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
The figure shows that 138,571 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 100,330 in Punjab, 38,219 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,480 in Balochistan, 17,122 in Islamabad, 3,893 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 2,980 in Azad Kashmir.
As far the death toll in concerned the figures shows overall 6,552 deaths were reported in the country as Sindh crossed the toll of deaths in Punjab. 2,531 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in the province, 2,245 in Punjab, 1,263 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 146 in Balochistan, 184 in Islamabad, 89 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 77 in Azad Kashmir.
Pakistan has so far conducted 3,795,287 coronavirus tests and 33,898 in last 24 hours. 302,708 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 493 patients are in critical condition.
