Eight-year-old girl becomes Karachi’s first rabies fatality of the year

Karachi has reported its first rabies death of the year on Tuesday, with an eight-year-old girl succumbing to the infection.

The girl, who was hailing from Jhol area in Sanghar, was bitten by a stray dog about a month and a half ago; however, sources say that she did not receive the rabies vaccine after the bite.

Officials say that more than 3,000 cases of dog bites have been reported in Karachi this month alone.
