BRUSSELS: The European Union was saddened by the demise of former senior EU diplomat and staunch advocate for Kashmiris, Ambassador Anthony Crasner, who passed away in Brussels on Thursday morning.
Ambassador Crasner, known for his unwavering support for the rights of Kashmiris, served as a Senior Advisor to the Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) and passionately defended the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir at the European Headquarters in Brussels for an extended period.
Expressing profound grief over the loss, Chairman of the Kashmir Council Europe, Ali Raza Syed, conveyed heartfelt condolences to Ambassador Crasner’s family on behalf of the entire KCEU team and the Kashmiri nation.
Ali Raza Syed highlighted Ambassador Crasner’s significant contributions, emphasizing his steadfast backing of Kashmiris within the European Union and other European institutions. He described the late ambassador as a diplomat of integrity, intellect, and compassion, who played a pivotal role in advancing the Kashmiri cause through peaceful and diplomatic means.
Ali Raza Syed underscored Ambassador Crasner’s empathy and dedication, which earned him respect among the oppressed Kashmiri community enduring the brutalities of state terrorism under Indian occupation. He reiterated his solidarity with the ambassador’s family during this challenging time, praying for peace for the departed soul.
