Fast changing regional geo political situation

Ashraf Ghani has won elections in Afghanistan with a thin margin. Taliban are reaching agreement with Americans. Americans have created a Space Force to counter any outer space operations by its adversary, in all retrospect, China.

Chinese have shown their muscle in their recent Independence Day parade, which must have sent shudders to its adversaries. India has created a Central Command under Gen Bippon Rawat.

Advertisment

Recent series of press conferences by him seems mere Pakistan centric. India is going to purchase new combat aircrafts worth $ 115 billion. This is in addition to other military hardware purchases.

Will peace return to Afghanistan? It is a big question. Ashraf Ghani is not in the loop (apperantly). Northern Alliance is in shatters. There is no likes of Ahmed Shah to unite them. Presently there are splinter groups being led by people like Dostum.

But, ethnically, they are under the influence of Iran. On the contrary, Afghan Army has majority of Persian speaking groups like Uzbeks, Tajiks, Hazaras, etc. Taliban are Pushto speaking. The convergence of ideas is near impossible due to the belief hardliners. Americans withdrawal from Afghanistan in the haste will once again create a situation as occurred after the exit of Soviet Russia.

In the absence of any amicable governance plan in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of American troops, there is all likelihood of a beginning of internal blood feud among divergent hard core ethnic groups. If such a situation arises, it is once again going to suck in Pakistan. If at all it happens, then Indian malice will be more pronounced.

India is governed by an extreme right party now. They have openly expressed their racist views about the minorities, specially the Muslims. The introduction of Citizenship Amendment Act and the Registration Act are blatant racist laws.

Brutal killing of Muslims across the country are going unabated. Their rhetoric against Pakistan is louder than before. Clampdown in Kashmir has gone past 200 days. Atrocities against the Kashmiri men, women, children, old and young continue unabated.

There is a blackout of information due to shut down of internet and mobile phones. World at large has not made any worthwhile effort to pressurize India to recede. Mostly it has been lip service only.

Trump is landing in India in a couple of days. His pep talk will be worth listening. There is no likelihood of respite for the Kashmiries or any positive outcome against the RSS governed BJP atrocities against Muslims of India.

It is more important to follow the State Department and Pantagon rather than the mercuric Trump. “Trump’s sweet talk is not for real. Listen to both Trump and Alice Wells, but pay more attention to her”, remarked ex Ambassador Touqir Hussain.

Internally, the eerie silence is noteworthy. Or, the forces to be are hibernating. Or else, waiting for an opportune moment. Then they will pop up like popcorn and start jumping around like freshly hatched caterpillars to glubup that comes their way.

The puppeteer strings will come in action again. A lot of glib will be there to listen at. Pseudo intellectuals and ever present TV anchors will mushroom again in the damp fields of dirty politics.

There are a lot of centrifugal forces at work at present. Major political parties are having their personal problems sorted. There is nothing national in their share of problems. It is their so-called leadership home grown hurdles which their so-called leaders are trying to maneuver around.

PML-N is mostly interested to get their princess reunite her father now living in his foreign palace in Avenfield, London.

PPP is now party of Zardaries turned Bhuttos. Supported by the grey haired uncles with more experience than the age of their leader, who has the cheeks to nominate his own sister to lead them in case of his arrest by NAB.

Fazalur Rehman is again slithering around but without the support of two, so-called, big parties this time. Who are financing him this time, is to be ascertained.

Judiciary is on its own agenda. High Courts are relentless in providing ‘justice’ to who and who.

PTI has its own serious issues. Groups are evident. Enough in house growling is going on. Governance is the major issue. Prime Minister has done wonderfully on the international fora but much is wanting with in the country. If anyone thinks that PMLQ, MQM, GDA, Mengal, etc have reconciled with the government that is not the case.

The bottom line for the government and the who is who in the hierarchy is – – – – are we abreast with the changes in the offing within the region and their impact on Pakistan? I am of the view that we are not. Government must take immediate action and prepare the masses for a possible fallout. Drastic actions are wanted. Tough decision making is needed. Enough pampering has been demonstrated. Prime Minister must put his foot down. It is now or never situation.

You are 100% right. Just watched to Trump speech he delivered in India after landing. He is more worried about the votes of Indian Expats instead of calling spade a spade. He is trying to sell arms and defence technologies worth billions of dollar to India. He looks like a third rate businessman instead of wise statesmen.
