ISLAMABAD: Fight between black and white coats ‘a cause of embarrassment’ for the country as well as for the society, said Sheikh Rasheed, Federal Minister for Railways on Thursday.

While talking to the media after addressing a ceremony at the Bahria University in Islamabad, the Minister regretted the onslaught on the Punjab Institute of Cardiology in Lahore by the lawyers.

Sh Rasheed said that valuable lives were lost between a fight of “the white coat and the black coat” and the entire world was sent a message that “we are intolerant.”

The minister remarked that the whole nation was in a state of shock due to irresponsible attitude by the “educated corps [of lawyers]” as three people lost their life.

Responding to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s matter of corruption cases, Rasheed said the former president’s plea bargain in five cases would be done by the month of March. “If Bilawal doesn’t adopt a plea bargain, then his political career will be over,” he said.

Sh Rashid said the government has been taking steps to address the issue of inflation in the country, and only Prime Minister Imran Khan would take people out of these problems. “Those who are demanding fresh elections should be ashamed of themselves.”

Replying to a question, the minister said Pakistan stood by their Kashmiri brothers and sisters.

Commenting on the Indian citizenship legislation, he said Modi has been turning India into an extremist Hindu state where Muslims were being denied citizenship.

“Modi is unaware that UP and CP’s Muslims will also awake and his government is standing with the support of Muslims,” he said.

Earlier, he urged youths to play their role to take forward the country on the path of progress and prosperity.

He asserted a strong economy was important to formulate independent policies and ensure strong defense of the country.

The minister stated: “Pakistan is rich in natural resources including oil and gas but regretted that the resources were not truly exploited.”
