ISLAMABAD: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Sirajul Haq declaring Kashmir a matter of life and death for Pakistan has said that fighting for the cause is like the fighting for the country.
Addressing joint session of Parliament on Wednesday, Sirajul Haq warned that AJK and Gilgit Baltistan would be next target of India if New Delhi was not stopped here. The country, said Siraj, would turn into barren land as India could go for stop the water supply of Pakistan from the western rivers flowing throw the occupied territory.
He asked the government not to trust on the US for the solution of Kashmir issue keeping in mind the America’s past record.
US President Trump’s offer for mediation, the JI chief said, seemed a pre-planned move which became clear as state department declared the revocation of Article 370 as an internal matter of India.
Saying the US and India were strategic partners, Siraj raised question why Washington would go against New Delhi on Kashmir issue?
He said Pakistan must approach world community to create awareness about Kashmir crisis but there was no need to pin hoped so high that anyone else would help resolving the long standing issue.
“It is Pakistan and its people who ultimately needed to take stand. Kashmir is cause of Pakistan and country’s jugular vein,” he added
The JI leader asked the government to immediately host an international conference on Kashmir, give special task to Pakistani embassies to run a strong awareness campaign in concerned countries against Indian aggression in the occupied region and establish special Kashmir desk in every embassy.
He suggested that delegation comprising of government and opposition members be formed and sent in different countries on special task. He added that all steps were needed to be taken on urgent basis and government should come with a concrete strategy and proposals. The opposition would stand with the government if it was going to take bold steps. He added it was ultimately the responsibility of the government to move forward without wasting any further time.
Sirajul Haq said Kashmir shared boundaries with world powers like Russia and China and any misadventure by India in the occupied region would create a potential danger and throw the entire region into war. Therefore, he added, world community must come forward to resolve this longstanding issue between the two atomic neighbors.
The JI Chief said that people of Pakistan were standing with their Kashmiri brothers in this moment of deep shock and grief and will go to every extent for their help. He said any solution of Kashmir issue without the wishes of people of the held valley would not be acceptable to the people of Pakistan. (INP/SB)
