ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan lauded the role of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in the educational sector and hoped it would further extend its academic network to serve the marginalized section of the society.
She was talking with the students and the University’s staff during his visit to ‘Education Expo’ held here at Pak-China Friendship Center.
The minister spent some time at the stall of the University, taking keen interest in its academic programs.
She said government will support this Mega University to promote quality education. While referring to AIOU’s Campus at Sialkot, she said she is prepared to facilitate it doing its best for catering the educational needs of the local people.
Firdous Ashiq Awan also appreciated Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zia-Ul-Qayyum for his initiatives in promoting the academic-ranking of the University through digital transformation.
During the visit, Chairman Department of Mass Communication Dr. Saqib Riaz and Director Students affairs Rana Tariq Javed briefed the Minister about University’s academic programs and its country-wide infrastructure network..
The AIOU’s stall was largely visited by the students of the local educational institutions during the two-day of expo. The students were provided set of research journals and other relevant material about academic programs, being offered by the University.
