WAZIRABAD: Fire that erupted at Pakistan Railway’s wood warehouse at Haripur Railway Station near Wazirabad on Sunday morning was brought under control after a hectic effort of 19 hours, Dunya News reported.
More than 12 fire brigade vehicles from Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot and Wazirabad and a Pakistan Army helicopter took part in operation to douse the blaze.
According to rescue sources, heavy winds caused difficulties in bringing the fire under control. No loss of life was reported, however, wood worth millions of rupees was reduces into ashes.
