First Pakistani pilgrims arrive in Madinah under Makkah route initiative

MADINAH: The first flight carrying 270 intending Pakistani pilgrims under the “Makkah Route Initiative” arrived at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, marking another milestone in efforts to enhance the Hajj travel experience.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said, “the Makkah Route Initiative is designed to provide seamless, high-quality services to pilgrims from participating countries by completing all essential travel procedures before departure.”

Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousuf said the government was providing pilgrims with the “best possible facilities” as the operation commenced from multiple cities.

All passport formalities are finalised following verifying health requirements, ensuring a smooth and efficient journey at the departure airport.

Citing by Radio Pakistan, the minister expressed gratitude to Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, and Hajj Minister Tawfiq Bin Fawzan al-Rabiah for their support and guidance in facilitating the Hajj preparations.

The minister, along with senior officials, saw off pilgrims at Islamabad International Airport, where the first flight from the capital departed for Riyadh shortly after 9am.

He also congratulated the pilgrims on embarking on a blessed journey and urged them to represent Pakistan with honor and dignity during their pilgrimage.
