First Wheel Chair Cricket Tournament at Dir Lower

DIR LOWER: First Deputy Commissioner Wheel Chair Cricket Tournament was organized at Rest House Timergara.

The tournament was organized in line with the direction of the provincial government and on the eve of Universal Day of Disability with the theme “Future is Accessible”, the district administration Dir Lower with the collaboration of Sports Department and SADA Foundation Dir Lower.

Deputy Commissioner welcomed the players and inaugurated the Wheel Chair Cricket Tournament. Mr. Mehboob Shah (MNA), Mr. Hamayun Khan (MPA), Mr. Shafiullah Khan (MPA), Mr. Muhammad Shah Jamil Khan, AC Timergara, Mr. Pervaiz Khan, TMO Timergara, Mr. Muhammad Bakhat Shah Zaib Khan, Mr. Izhar ud Din, District Sports Officer, Youth Officer, also honored the event.

In the Wheel Chair Cricket Tournament, Peshawar Zalmi, Bajaur Gulona and Dir Tiger participated. Cash prices and shields will be awarded to the winner and runner up of the tournament.

Pakistan Red Crescent Society Dir Lower also installed the First Aid Stall. Mr. Akbar Khan, Coordinator, Dehi Ejthemayi Therqayati Social Worker Organization also installed a stall on SDGs, Aids, and human Rights. Awareness Session also held.

Deputy Commissioner and Mr. Hamayun Khan (MPA) visited the stalls. The visiting teams of special persons lauded the initiative of the provincial government and as well as district administration and demanded that such like activity may be arranged time by time.

Two international players of Wheel Chair Cricket are also participating in the tournament who recently won the Asian Cup by defeating India in Nepal.
