Govt finalizes plan to establish 120 accountability courts across country

ISLAMABAD: Government has devised a plan to establish 120 new accountability courts across the country to ensure the quick hearing of corruption cases.
The Ministry of Law and Justice has finalized plan to set up new courts as there are only 24 accountability courts operative in the country, spokesman of Ministry of Law and Justice said.
“Currently a total of 24 accountability courts are functioning in the country and the ministry has decided to reinforce these courts and plan to set up 120 accountability courts across the country has been completed keeping in view the orders of the Supreme Court.
The spokesman further said that the plan will be presented to the Prime Minister Imran Khan for consideration very soon. Sources said that the federal government is accelerating the accountability process in the country, which requires the establishment of these courts.
