Heatwave to hit Karachi from tomorrow (Monday)

KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a heat wave in the city starting from tomorrow (Monday), with the mercury expected to rise up to 41 degrees Celsius.

According to representative of Met department, during the heatwave, which will continue till May 21, the sea breeze will remain suspended.

This time, the residents of the city will brace the harsh temperature while fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.

The city is also under lockdown orders as Sindh has recorded more than 15,000 coronavirus cases with over 200 deaths.

However, mainly hot and dry weather is likely to prevail in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours.

Rain with wind and thunderstorm is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Sunday morning:

Islamabad 17 degree centigrade, Lahore 27, Peshawar 20, Karachi 28, Quetta 13, Gilgit and Murree 15 and Muzaffarabad 16 degree centigrade.
