TANK: The District Police Officer (DPO) Tank has sought cooperation of religious scholars to help maintain peace during Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Husain to be commenced from October 04.
The appeal was made Thursday during a visit of DPO Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada to the different Imam Bargahas in Tank city, Gara Baloch, Ranwal and Norang.
Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada surveyed and analyzed the geographic location of different Imam Bargahs and held separate meetings with the Mutawalis of Imam Bargahs to discuss security arrangements for Chehlum.
He assured the Mutawalis to provide foolproof security to the mourners and appealed them to pay their active role to maintain law and order during Chehlum of martyrs of Karbala.
DSP headquarter Iqbal Baloch also accompanied Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada during his visit to different Imam Bargahs and gave him a detailed briefing about the traditional routes of mourning processions and different conventions of Chehlum.
Spokesperson of district police informed this scribe that the Chehlum of Imam Husain would be observed in four sectors of the district during October 04 to October 16, 2020, underlining a total contingent of 517 police personnel will be deployed at different Imam Bargahs of Tank City, Gara Baloch, Ranwal and Norang to ensure peaceful observance of Muharam.
