IHC Justice Raja Inam Amin Munhas heard the pleas for acquittal filed by both Imran Khan and his wife and issued notices to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the acquittal requests, seeking a response by January 28.

At the beginning of the hearing, the defense counsel for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi requested that the case be transferred to another bench. Lawyer Salman Safdar pointed out that Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb had previously heard five petitions related to this case and suggested that it would be appropriate for this court to also refer the acquittal petitions to the same bench.

Justice Raja Inam Amin Munhas remarked that the matter at hand pertained to acquittal petitions, not bail applications and that the current court would proceed with hearing the case on its merits.

Imran Khan’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, also sought a stay order on the trial in the Toshakhana 2 case, but Justice Raja Inam Amin Munhas stated that there was no judicial precedent for staying criminal proceedings at this stage. The court decided to issue notices and hear both parties before making a ruling.
