Indian forces martyr five more Kashmiris on first day of Ramazan

SRINAGAR: Security forces in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IHK) on Saturday confirmed five militants were killed in different operations during the last 24 hours.

Two of these, whom Indian forces tagged as militants were killed on Friday late night while the other three were killed in the wee hours of Saturday.

In his brief statement on Twitter, a police spokesman said the militants were shot dead in a brief encounter.

Inspector general of police, Vinay Kumar said that the operation was launched following inputs about the presence of some militants.

This operation based on a credible police input was launched Friday evening.” Spokesman claimed.

An Indian army official told reporters that two militants travelling in a car, were stopped at a check post laid by the police and the army at Kharpora, Arwani in Bijbehera area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

“The Mujaheddin , however fired at the police naka and tried to flee. They were killed in a brief shootout,” he claimed.

In the exchange of firing, a police man also sustained injuries and was taken to nearby medical facility for treatment.

In another operation two Militants and a associates were killed in an encounter which started early Saturday between Indian forces and Militants in Goripora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama District.

Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar, said a total four militants and one militant associate were killed in two gunfights.

Earlier reports said that a joint team of Police and army’s 50 RR launched a cordon and search operation in Goripora area of Awantipora.

As the joint team of Indian security forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.

However, identity of the slain Militants is yet to be ascertained, the IGP said.

When the world is observing the holy month of Ramadhan, Kashmiris are continuously witnessing the worst form of human rights violations. Indian authorities have martyred 64 Kashmiris since January 2020.

Lately, Indian authorities have denied the mortal remains of slain youth to theirs families drawing criticism and anger all over Kashmir. The bodies of slain youth are secretly buried in far flung areas which violates the humanitarian law and religious rights.

Meanwhile, 2G mobile internet services were snapped in all four districts of south Kashmir.
