Indian West Bengal CM suffers head injury, hospitalized for treatment

KOLKATA: Indian West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sustained a serious injury at her home, resulting in a head injury that required hospitalization.

The All India Trinamool Congress shared a distressing image of Banerjee, visibly bleeding from her forehead while lying in a hospital bed.

Indian media reported an anonymous hospital official disclosed that the 69-year-old leader slipped at her residence, hitting her head on furniture and injuring her forehead.

She was promptly transferred to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata, where medical professionals administered stitches to her injured forehead, ultimately stabilizing her condition.

In response to the unfortunate incident, Mamata Banerjee’s party issued a message on social media, urging supporters to keep her in their prayers during this challenging time.

Bharatiya Janata Party President Sukanta Majumdar also extended well-wishes for Banerjee’s swift recovery, expressing hope that she would soon return to her political duties.

Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankar echoed similar sentiments, conveying his concern for Banerjee’s health and offering prayers for her speedy recuperation.
