Iraqi leader asks India to stop atrocities in occupied Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD : Leader of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI) Sheikh Dr Humam Hamoudi has said that peace in region cannot be achieved unless resolution of the core issue of Kashmir through meaningful dialogue in line with UNSC resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiris.

Talking to media persons after meeting with President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Masood Khan in Muzaffarabad Tuesday, Dr Humam Hamoudi said no issue can be resolved by the use of force.

He asked India to stop human rights violations and atrocities in the occupied Kashmir.

The ISCI leader said that Iraq supports Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir dispute and UN acknowledged right to self determination to the Kashmiris to decide their future politically.

Talking to the delegation, AJK President Sardar Masood Khan said that India is using all tactics to suppress innocent Kashmiris which is in violation of international laws and human values.

He informed the delegation that Indian troops martyred over one lac Kashmiris from 1989 out of them seven thousands were killed by torturing them in custody.(INP)
