ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Monday released 268,391 cusecs of water from various rim stations across the country, while recording a total inflow of 349,159 cusecs, according to the latest IRSA data.
At Tarbela Dam, the water level in the Indus River was measured at 1,461.52 feet, which is 59.52 feet above its dead level of 1,402 feet. The inflow and outflow at Tarbela were recorded at 212,400 cusecs and 153,500 cusecs, respectively.
Meanwhile, at Mangla Dam on the River Jhelum, the water level stood at 1,170.95 feet, which is 120.95 feet above its dead level of 1,050 feet. The inflow into the dam was 38,035 cusecs, while the outflow was 16,167 cusecs.
Water releases from key stations were recorded as follows:

Kalabagh: 191,862 cusecs

Sukkur: 35,045 cusecs
From River Kabul, 30,100 cusecs of water were released at Nowshera, while 36,358 cusecs were released from River Chenab at Marala.
The controlled water release plays a crucial role in irrigation, hydropower generation, and flood management across the provinces, especially during the summer months when water demand surges.
