Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar spoke over the phone with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, exchanging views on recent regional developments, with a focus on the situation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Ishaq Dar underscored that Pakistan responded befittingly to unprovoked Afghan aggression, with Pakistan Armed Forces carrying out successful air operations under Operation Ghazb lil Haq to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of peace and stability in the region and agreed to stay closely engaged on evolving developments.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Türkiye Musa Kulaklikaya, on the margins of the Extraordinary Open-ended Session of the OIC Executive Committee in Jeddah.
They reaffirmed the deep-rooted and historic ties between Pakistan and Türkiye and agreed to further strengthen their bilateral strategic partnership.
The two sides also exchanged views on pressing regional developments and reiterated their firm and unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, in the face of continued Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied West Bank.
