WANA: A powerful explosion occurred inside a Masjid in Azam Warsak Bazaar in South Waziristan and dozens including Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Wana, Maulana Abdullah Nadeem, were injured and casualties are feared police sources confirmed.
The blast targeted Maulana Abdullah Nadeem, the Khateeb of Maulana Abdul Aziz Mosque and the Ameer of JUI Wana.
Several people, including Maulana Abdullah Nadeem, were injured in the blast and casualties are feared.
It is pertinent to mention here that this is not the first attempt on Maulana Abdullah Nadeem’s life. Previously, he was injured in a remote-controlled blast in Kalosha.
Security forces have rushed towards the explosion site and after cardoning off the area investigation of the incident was started, and security has been heightened in the area.
According to police sources, the explosion took place during Friday prayers. JUI District Ameer Maulana Abdullah Nadeem suffered injuries in the explosion.
Rescue teams and security forces reached the spot soon after the explosion. The rescue teams removed the injured to the hospital while security forces have cordoned off the area.
