Kashmir issue needs tough diplomacy: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Ahsan Iqbal commenting on Prime Minister Imran Khan address to United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) said that he has an earlier record of doing splendid speeches and later he has also taken U-turn.

Talking to media before the appearance of Rana Sana Ullah in court, the ex-interior minister said that it is welcoming to highlight Kashmir issue at the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) adding that it needs tough diplomacy.

He said that for a resolution of Kashmir issue, Prime Minister Khan didn’t visit any single country adding that one would have to see the outcome of the speech.

The PML-N leader added that the government said that as many as 58 countries supported Pakistan stance on Kashmir on the occasion of the United Nation’s Human Rights Council but it had signatures of only 16 heads of states.

Ahsan Iqbal said that if the government will take a solid step on the Kashmir issue then his party will support it while it will not allow the PM Imran Khan any U-turn on the issue.

The ex-planning minister said that the government is committing the worst political victimization adding that we have to think which kind of country we will hand over to our next generation.
