ISLAMABAD: July 13 is the day when Kashmiri nation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Pakistan and across the globe are marking to commemorate the 22 martyrs of July 13, 1931 who laid down their lives against the oppressive dogra regime.
Kashmiri are also paying tributes to more than 90,000 martyres killed by Indian forces for their demand to allow them to exercise their inalienable right of self-determination as enshrined in the UN Charter, UNSC Resolutions and Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Kashmiris are paying homage to martyrs of July 13, 1931 who raised their voice against the suppressive rule of Dogra ruler Hari Singh. On the day 23 people were martyrs during offering Azan outside central jail Srinagar where dogra rulers have detained and hanged Abdul Qadeer Khan, a man who raised voice against Dogra rule and on the day Qadeer was being tried in Central Jail Srinagar.
Kashmiri are marking the day with zeal and fervor every year and processions were organized to march towards Mazar e Shuhda (Martyrs grave-yard in the compound of Khankahe Naqashband Khwaja Bazar in downtown of Srinagar.
Kashmiris will organize processions, marches, seminars to pay homage to martyrs 0f 1931 and martyrs who continued their mission till the day. So far 96,320 Kashmiris were martyred out of them 7,341 were killed in custody.
