Kashmir Solidarity Day observed in AJK, Pakistan, World-over to support striving Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD: Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 Saturday (today) is being observed by the people of Pakistan within country and across the globe to express solidarity with struggling Kashmiris.

Functions, rallies, seminars, protest demonstrations are being arranged to express solidarity with Kashmiri people and to wake up the world conscience to support Kashmir freedom movement and fulfill the promise, the United Nations committed with Kashmiris to allow them to express their right of self-determination.

One-minute silence will be observed at 10.00am to pay homage to the martyrs of the liberation struggle of Kashmir. Human chains will be formed at Kohala and other important points linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.

Radio and TV will broadcast special programs to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Solidarity walks and rallies will be held across the country to express solidarity with the Kashmiris. Speakers in these functions would pay tribute to the Kashmiris on their resilience in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.

The international community must open its eyes as the Modi regime’s silence on continued human rights violations in India is tantamount to abetting the crime.

Kashmiri nation fighting for their inalienable right to self determination for more than 70 years is looking towards world powers. This day is also celebrated in honor of the Kashmiris who have lost their lives in the fight for freedom.

Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed across Pakistan to portray solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Many freedom fighters have lost their loved ones in their struggle for a separate identity on the world’s map and Pakistan supports Kashmir in its primary right to self-determination.

Kashmir Solidarity Day was established by the opposition leader of Pakistan at the time, Nawaz Sharif, in 1990. Sharif called for a strike throughout Pakistan as a protest against the Indian army, which held some parts of Kashmir. He appealed to the nation to pray for Kashmir’s freedom.

The Kashmir issue has been raised by Pakistan on a global level, but international leaders and the United Nations have not been successful in solving the problem. However, the people of Pakistan continue to support the people of Kashmir in their fight towards their goal by celebrating
