The President Tokayev is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including senior cabinet ministers and other government officials. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other federal ministers were also present at the reception.

According to the Foreign Office, the visit will allow both sides to review bilateral relations and explore new avenues of cooperation, particularly in trade, logistics, regional connectivity and people-to-people exchanges.

During his two-day visit, Tokayev will meet President Zardari, hold delegation-level talks with PM Shehbaz, and address the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum.

Several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and cooperation agreements are expected to be signed.

It is worth noting that Kazakh Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek was already on a visit to Pakistan.

Earlier, eight MoUs were signed on Monday between the higher education institutions of the two countries to promote joint research collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, collaborative academic programmes and capacity-building initiatives.

As part of the collaboration, Kazakhstan educational centres were inaugurated at three public sector universities in Islamabad.
