PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Hilal Food Authority seized two thousands kilogram substandard frozen meat here on Sunday.
According to details, the KP Food Authority taking notice of public complaints conducted operation in Chamkani area of Peshawar.
During operation, 2000 kilogram frozen meat which failed to meet the food standards was seized. The frozen substandard meat was disposed off later.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General KP Food Authority Riaz Mehsud said that inspection teams are available in the markets round the clock to check the quality of edible items.
He said action is being taken against unhygienic food items sellers, profiteers and hoarders on the complaints of general public.
