ISLAMABAD: Khyber PakhtunKhawa government has appointed two new officers in Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (FS-HFA); one of them a Zoologist and the other a veterinary doctor.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety & Halal Food Authority was established in 2017 for the purpose of ensuring Healthy & Hygienic food to the consumers of KPK province. However, the fresh appointments seem to be part of dubious recruitment practices as they lacked the required qualification for the posts.
Sources in KPK Food Authority revealed that two new officers are recently inducted in as Food Safety Officer (FSO) to ensure healthy food to the consumers of KPK province, while both officers are animal sciences expert. Both the officers; Ghulam Hussain and M. Sohail have stationed at the Authority’s regional office in district Bannu KPK. Ghulam Hussain has specialization in veterinary medicine while the M. Sohail is a zoologist.
The sources said that a blue-eyed officer has been recently appointed on the post of Accountant against the salary of Rs. 55,000 to manage the petty cash of amounting Rs. 35,000 to 40,000 per month for day-to-day office expenses.
An officer of the Authority, on condition not to be named, informed The News Today that both the animal sciences experts have been appointed as Food Safety Officers and they have backing of Azmat Wazir, director operations in KPK Food Authority.
The human resource of Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (FS-HFA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has demanded a transparent inquiry into the recruitment in connivance with Career Testing Services Pakistan (CTSP).
The staff of the Authority sent an open letter to President of Pakistan on 8th September 2020 with all documentary evidence of allegedly fraudulent recruitment process in connivance with CTSP. They have demanded an open inquiry into the recruitment process. Despite repeated attempts, Director General Authority, Sohail Khan could not be reached for comment on the issue.
